I Broke It. Patagonia Fixed It. Then Thanked Me?!
Patagonia!
I had heard a while ago that if one had stuff made by Patagonia that got damaged, you could send it back and they would repair it. Until this winter I never had a chance to test this out.
I bought this giant rolling duffle at least 10 years ago. This winter I loaded it with biking stuff and shipped it (via BikeFlights.com) to Florida. The gear made it fine but I dropped the bag when I picked it up and destroyed one wheel.
So, I sent it back to Patagonia. I really did not expect to ever see it again.
Not only did they send it back fully repaired, they sent me a thank you note for letting them do it. Now it was not free, but it was a fraction of the cost to buy a new one. (Basically the shipping cost both ways.)
The repair is nice. Saving the cost of a new bag is cool. Not dumping more in the landfill is great. The fact that they sent me a thank you card blows me away.
