Route 66 - October 31
A number of adventures since my last post:
BLM Camping: We survived. Ha! It went fine. If we had brought some leveling blocks it would have been perfect.
Bicycling: I biked up the mountain around Oatman, AZ in the rain. Climbed 1800’. That is essentially biking to the top of the Empire State Building.
Lake Havasu: A little excursion to see London Bridge. This crazy dude spent $10 million in the late 60’s and moved this bridge stone by stone and stuck it in the desert. Today this town brings in $1 billion a year.
Roy’s Cafe & Hotel: Standing on Route 66 we could look east or west and see nothing but the Mojave Desert. This place must have been such an oasis back in the day. Wish it could be saved.
The van has been working great and we have not gotten into too many fights. As long as I agree with Jeri all is good. Ha!
