My first ride of this trip is in the books. (Well it is in my Strava account.) I woke up at 4am, tried to go back to sleep until 5am, and was on the road at 5:45 am. I was back “Home” by 10am. Ha! It was a great ride in the scrub desert. Way different than Michigan that is for sure.

After a couple hours of getting the bike and my gear ready for tomorrow, recovery, shower, and lunch, Jeri and I hit the sights in Seligman. We found “Mater” and a lot of t-shirt shops. That movie did a bunch to revive this town. Still many empty store fronts, but also a fair number of restorations. I resisted the shirts but did find some Carmex, Oat Milk, and Scotch Tape. Ha!

Tomorrow it is biking East only. I have 40 miles which seems short, but there is also 3,000’ of climbing. My guess is it will take me 5 hours. If all goes well our excursion tomorrow afternoon will be The Grand Canyon!
