Buc-ee’s: Not A Gas Station, An Experience.

A slightly new adventure on the continuing quest of this cancer warrior. Same treatment. Same day of the week. New location in a new state AND a new shirt.

Jeri and I are attempting to spend about 8 weeks in Florida this winter. When we experimented last year, I flew home every two weeks for Treatment. This year I got started early (good thing) and got set up at the Cleveland Clinic in Vero Beach.

Just like to staff in Grand Rapids, everyone I have met here are great. They are all trying to help and giving me the benefit of the doubt. With all the hassle between sharing records and arranging insurance, it is amazing more of these people don’t burn out sooner. I can only imagine what it was like during COVID.

This was also my first chance to wear my Buc-ee’s t-shirt out in public. While I usually have someone comment on my shirt, today I have had at least 6 people say something to me. (And two of those were at the grocery store and one at Starbucks). When my son, Ross, and I drove my car down here we stopped at two of them. If you have never been and get the chance I highly recommend. It is not a gas station. It is an experience.

Feeling super lucky today on so many levels. Getting this treatment is close to the top of my list.
