Yesterday was the start of a “medical” week. All of it is “normal”. Monday, treatment. Wednesday, bone marrow biopsy. Thursday, PET scan. This is my 6 month check up. And even though it is normal and there is nothing to even remotely suggest a negative change, I am still nervous about it.

It was a busy September! I focused on my September Challenge, biking and raising money for 3 cancer charities I believe in and support. But of course I kept reading! This post is a review of the last 12 books I read. I recommend 9 of them. 75% isn’t bad!

I Ride For: Connie

II have been riding with Connie’s flag behind me for the better part of 3 months. I usually go for a week or 100 miles and then switch. I don’t really know why I have gone for so long. I think the primary reason was I did not know what to write. It must be a God nudge. He is either telling me Connie needs this flag now so get it done, or there is someone else who needs me to ride for them that I do not know of yet. Whatever the reason, now seems like the right time to finish Connie’s flag.

What a great day! I woke up at 5:30am and knew I would not go back to sleep. So, I put on my bike gear and headed out with my lights at full blast. I never saw the sun rise, but I did see the pre-sun rise and it was amazing. 72 miles, an excellent day, capped off with some cherry pie. This is my kind of birthday. Does not get much better than this.
