Relentless by Tim Grover gives a look into the mindset of elite performers based on his experience training legends like Michael Jordan and Tom Cruise. Grover breaks down what it takes to move from good to great to unstoppable. “Cleaners,” he calls them, have a kind of mental toughness, discipline, and drive to win. This book gives straight-shooting advice on how to build that same edge yourself. Highly recommend.
“Cancer may leave your body, but it never leaves your life.” LiveSTRONG Manifesto
I remember hearing this 15 years ago and wondering what this would be like. I no longer have to wonder. Michael has a different cancer (Prostate) and is in the same boat. They caught it early. It is very likely that Michael will go the next 40 years of his life and never have any progression. But as he told me a couple weeks ago, every blood test is a roller coaster.
What a great day! I woke up at 5:30am and knew I would not go back to sleep. So, I put on my bike gear and headed out with my lights at full blast. I never saw the sun rise, but I did see the pre-sun rise and it was amazing. 72 miles, an excellent day, capped off with some cherry pie. This is my kind of birthday. Does not get much better than this.
My daughter gave me this shirt for Father’s Day. This moto is a reminder to find ways to live wide every day. Live life to the fullest, if you will. Make a positive difference every day in others lives. Be the best patient I can be no matter what. I don’t always succeed, but I usually try!
