I Ride For:  Dave

I met Dave at our middle son’s (Cole) engagement party.  Dave is somehow related to Cole’s fiancée (Mallory).  He is like an uncle twice removed on her Mom’s sisters side of the family.  I know this sounds sketchy, but I’m sure we did not invade some strangers house for pizza and dessert.

I may not know how they are all related (I don’t think they know completely how they are related either!) but I do KNOW Dave is a cancer warrior.  AND he is not just a cancer warrior but a warrior warrior also. He retired as a full Colonel a few years ago. Now that is an accomplishment!

While eating tasty desserts, Dave and I talked “transplant”.  I left knowing he did not do a transplant, but was sketchy on if he choose not to do it or could not do it. (Maybe Dave was in Military Intelligence and is a master at deception.  Ha!)  Either way, I was reminded once again that cancer does not discriminate.  Does not matter who you are, it can get to you.

Dave, thanks for sharing your story with me.  It was a great time talking to you. Even if you are not really related to Mallory, never were in the military, and don’t even live in that house. You’re a good story teller either way. Ha!

PS Hope this flag helps Cole get his not the “circle of trust”.  😩
