I Ride For: Perry

Stage 3 colon cancer. Metastasized to lungs. Told to go home - nothing they could do. Found another doctor who would continue treatment. Currently in the hospital with pneumonia. Now this is a tough row to hoe. Wow!

I have never met Perry, but I sure appreciate his spirit. As I have written before, there is always something else one can do - physically, mentally, or spiritually. With the little bit my sister-in-law gave me about Perry, he has continually done this through his life. And is doing it now with cancer.

Perry, I wish I could do more than ride my bike and send you a flag. I am too far away to bring you food or sit in the hospital with you. I do, however, have one observation to pass along. While none of us asked to be part of it, we are now part of a community. My experience is this community is super strong. If you need/want something and ask another person who has cancer, they will deliver if they are capable. In a crappy situation this is an amazing gift. Tap into it!
