Tofurkey?

I listened to a podcast a few years about tofurky. When it was over I wondered, “Who would actually eat that stuff?” I now know the answer - ME!

I’ve actually been trying to get one for 5 months now. I found a place to order online but I had to get 6 at a time. No problem! And with a month before Thanksgiving, I put in my credit card and ordered. The package arrived December 30. (Maybe they were thinking Thanksgiving of 2024.)

Since we now have 6 tofurkies and Jeri had time to experiment, she cooked one. It was great. No, it was not exactly like turkey, but when all you eat is tofu, chick peas, and beans for protein, this was a nice change. It was firm, tasty, and each slice has 34g of protein.

And just like a regular turkey, I have leftovers that will last well into next week! I recommend this for anyone who is vegan AND for you carnivores who want to try something different. You could even make it as a side dish for your next Thanksgiving meal. (But you better order now. Ha!)
