God nudge

My mom Karen talks about “God nudges” in her blog, Wisdom of the Wounded. She explains the nudges as persistent thoughts or feelings that we just can’t shake—feeling like we need to take action or engage somehow. I’m not sure if reading Sheryl Sandberg’s book, Option B, was a God nudge, foreshadowing or something else, but it definitely made an impression on me.

I read Option B in December 2018, about 5 years before I discovered I’d be needing my own Option B. After reading this book about facing adversity, building resilience and finding joy, I wrote:

“Wow what a book. I am so fortunate to have not gone through a tragic loss. Still so much applies to everyday life. And I have a resource if I ever need it.”

I am grateful to have resources like this book to help me face adversity, and my mom to remind me to pay attention when God nudges.

SHINE!
